Forever Batch '84's Princess |
Now don’t be deceived by the Spanish mestiza features of this girl. She could manipulate you in giving her all your baon, or hypnotize you in providing all the answers in the test, without you knowing it. Even our teachers didn’t escape from her mouth-pouting and eyelash-batting—they gave her passing grades, even though she didn’t even make the project. Not only because she had the prettiest brown eyes and doll-like face, she was also the tiniest in our class (Not anymore, though, she has outgrown me!). She could shed a tear at a snap. She could be out-of-breath asthmatic one second, and singing the highest Glee Club soprano part the next. She's funny and sweet. She was like the spoiled baby of the barkada; one cry from her and we all came running like doting mothers. We loved her so dearly.
Happy birthday, Maer. You are now a gorgeous mother and a strong lady. Now can you please stop that cute baby talk? Love you, sis!
Movie Recall: The Little Prince (1974)
Based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, this magical musical fable begins as a pilot makes a forced landing on the barren Sahara Desert. He got the surprise of his life when he suddenly found himself talking to a lovely, strange boy, with a stranger request: Will you draw me a sheep?
My Review:
I loved the songs in the movie, although some parts were a little bit boring and even disturbing for young audience. When I first saw this movie in high school, I was thrilled and entertained. I searched for a copy of the movie for the longest time, since I want to share the Little Prince experience with my kids. Unfortunately, when I saw this film again with them, I was kind of disappointed with some double meanings in the songs and dialogues.
My favorite parts:
If you please, draw me a sheep?
My favourite song from the movie:
What makes the desert so lovely at night? What makes the desert so lovely at night?
Millions of reasons, Tell me just one, At night the desert is hiding the sun
(Note: I didn't intend to download the Snake's part because I really don't like him. Here's a trivia anyway: It's said that Michael Jackson got his dance moves from the character of the Snake. Go check it out..gayang gaya ni MJ!)
And of course who will forget that fateful meeting of the Little Prince and the Fox? When it’s time for the Little Prince to go, the Fox gave him a secret:
It is only with the heart that one can see clearly
What is essential is invisible to the eye
