My Lazy Days

Lately, I’m digging Bruno Mars’ Lazy Song. I can totally relate to it. There are days when you just want roll on your bed and not even take a bath. That’s what I do mostly on weekends—just stink my day away. No obsessing on what to wear. No putting on makeup. No heating the hair straightener.

You don't want to see me like this, do you?
That’s why I don’t welcome unexpected visitors. If any one of them suddenly dropped by my house without giving me a heads up, I would definitely freak out. I have instructed my helpers to tell that person that I’m not home, never mind if my car was there. It’s either that, or you run the risk of seeing Medusa in the middle of the day. Your choice. (Bee-otch, huh?)

Aaah...relaxed!

Speaking of being lazy, we Pinoys are oftentimes unfairly generalized as such. I don’t want to blame lethargic and slack actions on the hot weather, for there are other countries more humid than ours, but still have active people. Even in the school where I work, a few teachers are habitually absent or late for the most trivial reasons. Well, we might hate being stereotyped, but sometimes we bring it upon ourselves.

Anyways, weekends and holidays are another matter. When my students ask me what I do during the weekend, I usually answer that I always have the most awesome two days. I. Chill. Out.

Today I don’t feel like doin’ anything. I just want to lay (lie) in my bed.  Don’t feel like pickin’ up my phone, just leave a message at the tone.
