My dear FXie,
With Camera-shy FXie. |
I know you have been a loyal road buddy to me for quite some time now. When you were abandoned by your brothers in Ginebra’s fleet, I excitedly rescued you from the dump. When we first met, you were messed up, you were full of chicken feeds inside and you were as hard as hell to steer. But I saw the possibility in you, so I willingly shelled out some coins to make you over. And you did become pretty, at least to my eyes. And we became best friends.
Oh yes, we’ve had our ups and downs, but those stressful bouts were just misunderstandings, or carelessness on my part. Like there was one time that I forgot to put water in your radiator, And boy, did you get hot and cranky! Or those times when you didn’t want to wake up from your slumber. So I had to whisper to you a little prayer to egg you out from your sleep, and it miraculously worked. But those episodes were few and sparse, and we easily forgave and forgot. So we have continued to be chummy for two years short of a decade.
But who am I kidding now? Your tantrums are getting more frequent. Worse, you just suddenly decide to stop purring at the most importune time. (Hmp! Like when you went soft on the clutch on me while I was all pretty and dressed up for a party last night!) Well, I admit. No time is a good time for you to turn bipolar on me. Why, we even had three minor accidents this year! My only consolation is that the Hubby has, as what I call them, Rescuers just eleven cell phone digits away. These days though, it seems like the Rescuers are visiting you and me somewhat numerously, and it’s quite alarming. And embarrassing. Because now our circle of friends is getting bigger. And I’m sure the Rescuers are not jumping to the roof to join our club.
We have fun taking pictures together when no one's looking! |
Yes, Fxie, we are turning into dependent beeotches. And don’t you hate it? The Daughter asked me if it didn't occur to me to swap you with a younger looking pal. Today, The Older Son told me to just let you go. Hey, don't feel bad. I'm not thinking of abandoning you today. Maybe in the near future? Kidding!
Oh, and I just remembered. It’s your 18th birthday. My, you are all grown up and mature now. Sad though, you’re celebrating your day at the Rescuers’ shop. Let’s party later, shall we?
Love,
MM
