For a long time I have contrapted my bosoms with wires that don’t let them breathe. Hey, look. I’m your typical Asian woman whose drawers have never kept a Cup B or C or D. So fashion gurus have given me a solution to compensate for the lack of size upfront by giving them a lift. And they say, the underwired bra is the answer. Sure, I would do anything for a temporary upgrade in the alphabet, right?
However, the feeling of the hard wire constricting my chest was not at all comfortable. At day time, it was like carrying rocks because they make my breasts heavy. Every time I removed it at night, my breasts felt painful and tender, especially if I was nearing my monthly period. But I endured, for beauty and vanity know no pain.
Until I was diagnosed with 13 friggin’ cysts. Woah, that totally changed my priorities! Was I really to sacrifice my health and well-being for a few hours of fake cleavage?
Now, I am using bandeaus (with pads pa rin naman! Ha! Ha!) and believe me when I tell you that it made a lot of difference in the comfort department. It was like a ton of whatchamacallit was taken out of my chest. There is no more feeling of heaviness. No more hardness. I could even breathe more freely. And to think that I have been using these bandeaus for only three weeks!
Hmm…so can you guess what I did to the Wacoal and Mark and Spencer underwires I have?
